So, I took a little break last week and didn't post a blog...BUT I had a great time and I'm going to share some photos :) We went on our annual Montana trip. Every summer we try to make a visit to Montana. We stay in Columbia Falls, near Whitefish and Glacier National Park. It's pretty awesome. Warning: Lots of photos!
This is me, my husband, and MIL at the airport! This is me with the pretty flowers in Montana!

These two were taken at the Middle Fork of the Flathead River in Glacier National Park, where we went Whitewater Rafting!
Our tradition, getting a beer flight (including root beer) at Great Northern Brewery in Whitefish! Another tradition: getting cajun fries at the Bull Dog Saloon!

We had so much fun in Montana, the weather was perfect, no cell service and very little wifi...good vacay.
So, the craft I did this week was Lighted Wine Bottle Boxes! They are so great and very versatile! The perfect gift for winos!!
So, the craft I did this week was Lighted Wine Bottle Boxes! They are so great and very versatile! The perfect gift for winos!!
First, I took one of those wooden wine bottle boxes (I got mine at Goody Goody Liquor Store) and I drilled a hole in it. The 1/2" drill bit works the best, you can definitely go bigger if you have to, but beware, if you go smaller, this project won't work!
Next, feed the xmas light through the hole from the back. I just got 20 count clear light strand, but you can use different colors or sizes if you want! Make sure you leave the plug hanging out the back. Next, I fed all of the Xmas lights through the top of the bottle and left the bottle inside of the box. Then I decided I wanted to decorate the bottle, which is totally optional! I glued flat marbles (found in the floral dept. at Hobby Lobby) to the bottle, but first, you have to sand both surfaces so the glue has a rough surface to adhere to. | |
This is the glue I I used to glue the marbles on. It seriously is the best glue for crafters!! It glues anything!!
I put tape on the marbles to hold them in place while the glue dried. I also ended up gluing decorative paper on the inside of the box. I should've done it before I even drilled the hole, but late decision!
I stuck a bow on it (everyone knows I LOVE BURLAP! Lol) and here's the finished product!!
So, I did something this weekend I swore I would never do....I went paddle boarding and swam in Lake Grapevine...and I absolutely LOVED it!! I'm definitely hooked. Here are some photos to prove my feat!
These are our friends that took us paddle boarding, Brock and Yas.
Cool photo of Brock!
Wine A Bit, You'll Feel Better...
So, I don't have a wine this week, not because I ran out of wines, but because this thing is awesome. I'm featuring the Bloody Best Bloody Mary from Chef Point Cafe in Watauga. As soon as you order it, they ask you what type of beer you'd like and they bring that out immediately since it takes a while to make the bloody mary. It's also included in the price! The total price is $25. Here's what it looks like!
Holy cheeseburger, fried chicken, bacon, shrimpies, waffle fries, olives, and onions! It's seriously a full meal! Check it out for brunch! On Sundays, they're open at 10am. And they have a dog-friendly patio! One of our new favorite brunch spots!
